Review: Minerva McGonagall Mattel Doll

Good day, Blogreaders.

My name is Minerva McGonagall.

People who know the Harry Potter literature sure know who I am.
For those who don't:

I am Professer McGonagall, teach Transfiguration in the Hogwards School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and am also head of Gryphindor house and - i the books - deputy headmastress of Hogwarts. Meanwhile I am headmastress.

This is all you need to know about my person, but whenever you want to know more, feel free and search that muggle thing called the internet.

Today I want to introduce my doll self to you.

Well, here am I still in the box.

The box is the same as all the others in the Mattel doll series, and they are already revwiewed, so I will not waist much more time on it.

Here is a look at its back. Of course my own pictures are the main theme this time.

When pulling out the display, you will find me with my wand pinned next to my hat.

Well, here am I freed from that display.

I am approximately 30 cm tall which is 11 1/2 inches.

Maybe you can see a little problem:
The hat does fit, but not too good, my bun is a little bit too big to be pushed under it properly.
You could pull the hat deeper, but I don't want to ruin my bun just for some silly pictures.

Now to the more detailed pictures.

It is all one piece but looks like a black dress with green velvet coat.

The dress part is, as I told you, black and the material looks silky. It has a high collar with a silver brooche sewn on.

The coat part has wide, open sleeves and at the front there is a bordering with rich golden printed on celtic ornaments.

You can open it in the back, it is closed with velcro.

My face is sculpted after the face of the famous british actress Maggie Smith who portrays me in the Harry Potter Movies.

My skin is light, my eyes are blue, and my hair is coifed as a proper curly bun at the top of my head.
Its colour is a nice blonde, but I swear when I was younger it had been black.

Here is a profile portrait so you can have another look at my hairstyle.

Here is my hat and my shoes.

The shoes are victorian style laced boots in black and the hat also is black and has a brooche and two pheasant feathers sculpted on.

My wand also is black, sculpted after the one in the movies and has a tiny handle for my doll hands to hold it savely.

It is Fir and Dragon Heartstring, nine and a half inches, stiff.

Um. I know this is important for a complete doll review, so here is how my body looks. It has articulation at the hands, ellbows, shoulders, neck, hips and knees.

That's everything you need to know.

Time to say goodbye, and don't ask me to post those silly heart or elsewhat things under the review.

Goodbye,
...have a bisquit!

Winter 2018/2019 Collection

Hello Ghouls and Mansters,

Hello Ghouls and Mansters,

here is Cleo deNile with another weekly blogspot.

Clawdeen is again busy with sewing, and so she asked me to show you the latest winter clothes she came up with.

As you can see in the picture above, I am wearing one of them.

One of our readers, Lyall, asked us if we could show you the scetches of the fashion too maybe.
It is a nice idea, and so this time you will see some together with the fashion.
Please excuse us the sketches just being raw doodles, they are just quick hints for Clawdeen not to forget what she originally planned to do.
Usually they come out quite different, you see.

Most of the sketches today are coloured in, because Clawdeen started another sketchbook (Nr 5) and wanted that one to be a bit larger and more detailed like most of the 4 ones before.

Calaminthe though scanned the rest of the old sketches - all of those - so Clawdeen now can put the older sketchbooks on a shelf.

Okay, let's start, with mine, because you already have seen how it came out in the end.

So, here is the b/w sketch.

Its one of the last ones in Sketchbook Nr 4, before she started the new one.

You see that the barret cap Clawdeen planned came out different.

Here is the whole cap. It came out much smaller then planned and it easily falls off my head and is not really warm, but I like the colour.

There is a dark blue pullover with lourex.
Red and dark blue pants (which had been Jinafires idea! I like the material, it has a chinese pattern).
And, because I am not at all a friend of winter (I prefer the warmth of the egypt desert) there also is a warm quilted material vest with collar.

Here is the nexts sketch, a winter outfit for Abbey Bominable. The sketch is the first one in the new book, and as you see, Clawdeen now adds tiny bits of the material she thinks of when planning the outfit.

And here is how it came out.

Clawdeen planned a Baker's Boy Cap, but instead at the end she decided to do a light purple crochet cap to go with the rest, trimmed with a glittering border she found at Tedi.

The main piece is a white plush coat with cute little fake buttons, made from silver and light purple beads.

As accessories, Abbey has some light purple translucent bead earrings with tiny white rhinestone detail.

Under the coat, Abbey is wearing a high collar, but sleeveless top with a print on mainly black and purple, it is recycled material, and metallic purple leggings.

I am kind of jealous for that coat, it looks so warm and cozy! But I must admit it really looks perfect for the Yeti ghoul.

Here is a new winter look for Frankie, and it came out quite the same:

Frankie is wearing a short jacket out of houndstooth pattern material. It is trimmed with black, closed with press buttons and there are some black beads sewn on as fake buttons.

On her head she is wearing a red beanie with black and white detail, and there are also a pair of self made bead earrings for her.

Under it, Frankie Stein is wearing a pair of silky black pinstriped trousers (Calaminthe thanks her bestie Jianne for sending her this material, together with others, it is great!) and a simple red sleeveless high collar top.

Robecca also needed a new outfit for winter, and here is the sketch for hers.

As you can see, it also came out a little bit different.

Under her coat, Robecca Steam is wearing a purple and white striped blouse with golden stud fake buttons and purple rubber material leggings.

Instead of a cap with feather, Calaminthe came up with another Baker's Boy Cap that is made from the same material as the coat, recycled kind of Jersey one.
The cap has a hatband and a little golden buckle.

Here is another picture, where you can see the coat, closed. It is waisted, longer at the back and trimmed with purple plush.

It has two rows of golden bead buttons, and they are closed with purple yarn. I think it really has a steampunk touch...

And here is todays last outfit, designed for Toralei stripe.

She already had the barret cap and a black fitting scarf, but at the end she decided to give the scarf away. Next year maybe Clawdeen will give it to another one of us.

At the end the jacket was finished as a blouson. It is made from the same knitted material as my pullover and has a grey fake fur collar.

Under the blouson Toralei Stripe is wearing a red knitted material pullover and simple black leggings.

And here is the group shot, showing all the new winter outfits once again.

From the left to the right: Toralei Stripe, Frankie Stein, Robecca Steam, me (Cleo deNile of course!) and Abbey Bominable.

With this last picture showing Frankie and Robecca in front of our home in the snow, I want to say goodbye for today.

We hope you liked the blogspot, if you like, you are of course welcome to comment and share.

Bye for now,

have a majestic weekend and a royal week,

REVIEW: Photobooth Ghouls Lagoona Blue

H'llo Readers,

I am Lagoona Blue, and this week Clawdeen has asked me to do the weekly blogspot and review this version of myself.

It is the first review of 2019, and yes, at the moment there are no actual dolls to be reviewed, so we concentrate on those versions of ourselves that are not shown in detail here.

Clawdeen told me that there are still several Monster High doll reviews you can look forward too, and a lot of other dolls as well.

Well.... let's start this.

I am:

PHOTOBOOTH LAGOONA BLUE

And here am I, still in my box.

The box is the same as those of the other Photobooth Ghouls.
There are also reviews of some of those.

Here are the links:

Sorry, there are not more of us here.

The box looks the same in each case, just the pictures of us ghouls change, and the names.

Here is mine from the back...

...and from one side.

When you open the box up, I am pinned on the background like this.

You don't find a brush, doll stand or diarie, but you will find a photobooth mask together with me.

Look, here am I, freed from the box.

I am a fully articulated Monster High doll, which means you can move my head, shoulders, ellbows, wrists, hips and knees.

On this version of me, you can also pull out and in my hands and ellbows and also my leg fins for making it easier to dress me different.

Well, now to the details, and let's start with the photobooth mask.

It is coral red and has the shape of two big starfishes with starfish and other sea creatures detail.
There is a handle so I can hold it, but it fells off easily.

My hair is combed up, part open, part in a high ponitail, and on one side the front is curled up to a big swirl.

Here you have a close-up of my face.

I am wearing pink eyeshadows and lobster coloured blush and lipstick, and under my left eye there are cute little starfishes painted on.

Another Accessorie I come with is an upper arm bracelet in the shape of a coral red octopus.

My dress is both sportive and festive. It has coral red parts with scales pattern and sea green parts with corals and bubbles printed on. Those parts are parted with black linings.

Here is a look at the back of the dress.

The back is all made of the sea green pattern and at the bottom there is an extra layer of mesh which remembers a bit of fins.

The dress is closed with velcro.

And here are my shoes, which are plateau sole sandals with pearl detail in sea green.

Well, end of review!

If you want more body details, my body is the same like the one of First Day At School Lagoona which is reviewed already. By following the link you also can find out the differences between the rebooted and the classic MH body.

Time to say goodbye and enjoy the rest of the weekend, so

Goodbye,

have a fintastic weekend and a clawsome week!

Happy New Year!

Happy new year, Blogmonsters!

Here is Clawdeen Wolf doing the first blogspot for 2019.

Did you have a great New Years Eve?

We did so!

Look, here is one of the doll parties in this house.

These are not all the MH dolls who live here dressed in Party style, but some of them.
From the left top to the right bottom:

Amanita Nightshade comes with her bootiful original dress, while Nefera DeNile partied in her upcycled "Once-Upon-A-Zombie-Snowwhite-Dress". Vampire queen Elissabat is wearing the party dress I once made for her, Draculaura chose her Music Festival Outfit, Frankie Stein also the partydress I made.
I am wearing my brand boo Gala dress of course, Honey Swamp also came in her self made combination.
On the bottom you see Silvi Timberwolf wearing self made panne velvet partyclothing, Gigi Grant, the same as Silvi, Venus McFlytrap, also in the partydress I designed for her and Lagoona Blue wearing her "Frights Camera Action" party dress.

Some of the other dolls also celebrated for the party.

Here you see Lammily doll Elea in a green self made dress. She is new and came on christmas and will be reviewed later this year.
Calaminthe and Nikki are wearing party dresses from the 90es or early 2000's.

Here is a single shot showing Nikki. She is one of the Skipper Babysitter doll series and also doesn't have a review yet, as most of the Barbie dolls who live here.

This is one of my plans for this year:

Post reviews of many Monster High, Barbie and other dolls who live here. There will be reviews of dolls that are old maybe as well as some of dolls you still can find in the stores with a little luck.
All of them you can get, with good luck, on marketplaces as Ebay or in Facebook groups.

As I told you, Nikki is wearing an old outfit. Calaminthes Barbie dolls really own a big warderobe, but lateley they don't find as much. We badly miss that Skipper, Stacie and Shelley doesn't get her own Fashion Pack line but you have to buy dolls if you want a new dress.
Let's really hope Mattel changes this maybe with their new doll lines.
I too hope they come back to more articulation on us dolls.

Of course you still can find Fashion Packs for Barbie herself, and some of them are really cute and unique. Here I would have some change wishes as well though too, like shoes in the fp's, and different sizes, you know, like fp's JUST for tall, normal, curvy and petite, and less one-size-fits-nobody-really-nicely!

Well, let's wait what Mattel will come up with this year.

So, what else are OUR plans for this year?

Well, of course Reviews, as mentioned before, and also more pictures of self-made dresses for myMonster High friends and maybe some for our Lammily dolls as well.

Maybe there will be more Doll Specials (before Ghoul specials but we changed this so the "normie" dolls also can have a chance to be interviewed and show their warderobes).

Will there be more giveaways, also?
Well. MAYBE.
I can't tell you for sure. It depends on what I have.

If, these giveaways sadly just will be shipped inner Germany.
Calaminthe is so sorry for all you readers living in the rest of the world, who hoped for more . But this year the international shipping costs rose from expensive to very, very expensive, and we simply don't have the money to ship international.
Maybe this could change again if Calaminthes life would change too, but at the moment, its just no.

There is just a possibility for national giveaways, and those will depend of how high the interest still is.

Well, this is so far what I have to tell you for today, so

Goodbye,

have a fangtastic weekend and a clawsome week!
