REVIEW: Budget Basic Gigi Grant

Hello Readers,

My name is Gigi Grant, and for everyone who doesn't know yet: I am a Genie.

I am not new in Calaminthes home, there had been an older version, but sadly - one of my hands broke and so Calaminthe thought it would be great to have another version of myself.

Today I want to review my newer self.

This version is called:

BUDGET BASIC GIGI GRANT

So I am a budget doll, and this is why I came in a small box.

At the front there is of course the Monster high writing and logo, and also a nice artwork of myself.

The Budget Basic line was something released between the older doll lines and the reboot lines.

On the side the logo and my name repeats, and there is a pink coffin shaped frame. The box itself is mainly black with a plastic window at the front, of course.

At the top of the boxes back is a close-up of the artwork on the front.

Then in the middle you will find some facts about myself - my name, again, my Killer Style, My Freaky Flaw and my Favourite Activity.

And at the bottom part there are three pictures of the other dolls that had been part of the Budget Basic Line which had been:

Draculaura

Frankie Stein.

When you pull the background display out of the box, this is how I am fixed to it.

You will find that there is just a doll in the box, and not a stand, brush, diary.

the display itself is mainly pink and shows a hallway in the MH school.

Well, I wish I could grant you 13 wishes when you free me from the box.

You could try it... who knows, maybe it works. ;-)

So, this is how I look out of the box.

My arms and hands are stiff and can only be moved at my shoulders, and just front and back. Calaminthe thought this way my hand can't be broken off again.

My legs can be bend at the knees, so its no problem for me to take a seat.

My hair is styled in a very high, hot pink ponytail with orange streak.

It felt greasy right from the beginning, but the look was fine.

Calaminthe said you can wash out the grease later and that it is fabric glue that comes out of my head.

You can find tutorials and tipps how to wash it out in MH facebook groups, and maybe also in YouTube Tutorials.

Here is a face-up.

Calaminthe didn't review me before in general, I think, so I will give you a description of how I look as detailed as I can.

My skin is pink and I have blue eyes.

Under my eyes you will find some freckles, and my ears - you can see it better on the profile close-up - are pointed.

On my chest there is a pink scorpio tattoo.

This version of myself has blue eyeshadow with golden yellow highlighter and fuchsia lipstick.

The dress I wear is very oriental styled.

Mainly, its half blue and half pink with a marrocan window style pattern.

The dresses top is black with glitter and there is a golden ribbon between the parts.

My arm is accessorized with a very cute golden bracelet.

My shoes are golden as well, with buckles and with very pointed fronts. They also are typically oriental and remember of a Dschinn - what I am of course.

I am not sure if my new self has a new headmold, but seeing my new self (left) together with my older self (right) it seems it has indeed changed a bit. (The other version is Field Trip Gigi btw).

I personally like my new face better.

And here are also differences between my new Budget Basic body - left - and my Field trip one - on the right.

As you can see, all the scorpion details on my body are gone, sadly. Gladly not on my arms and legs, though.

My hands are different too - my older self had long, pointed finger nails.

The arms have no joints, I told you already, but this was what Calaminthe wanted to have this time.

I think though that the body itselves is not wider then my old body, so I can't tell if it is a rebooted one or just a budget one.

Over all - when you see the both versions together, you could say the old one has some plus..sses.

I personally like my new version though... and when Calaminthe gets the grease out of my hair, nearly everything is fine.

I am very happy with my new face and also with the new clothes I now have.

And yes, we are now at the end of the review and also of todays blogspot.

The Winner Of The Summer Giveaway

Hello Ghouls and Mansters,

Its another blogspot, and I am Cleo de Nile.

Last week Clawdeen opened out Summer Giveaway...

and the first time we posted it, there had been a little mistake.

The question was: HOW MANY PIECES WILL YOU GET?

Sadly, Clawdeen counted wrongly in the first place and wrote 19 pieces...

At the end we had 5 entries for our little Lottery, and nearly all of you wrote down 19 pieces.

There had been just one Ghoul who counted right...

We thought of sending her the price first, but then decided that everybody should have a good chance, because it had been our mistake. We decided that, instead, she would count as two entries and all the others as one.

Kate P. counted 18 pieces, and that was right, and we corrected it later in the blogspot.

We really are sorry.

So - in our Lotbox there are 6 lots now, and of course they had been shaken and shaken so that it will be fair for everybody.

But we only can have one winner at the end.

Today, the ghoul who will drew lots, is Meowlody!

As usually, her hand is taped already, and in front of us, you see the lotbox.

Cleo DeNile Pictures And REVIEWS Of Some MH Minis

Hello Ghouls and Mansters,

It's time for another blogspot and today its on me, Cleo DeNile, to do one.

Originally, Clawdeen thought to do a Ghoul Special, we didn't post one in a while.

But, to be truth, Calaminthe was too tired (and a bit too lazy) to shoot some new pictures and upload them.

So, at least, these pictures can be posted by me.

So, why do we post these pictures we made indoors on the stairs?

It was raining the day, and instead of going out and show my fangtastic Maul Fashion Pack to the world, we decided to make some pics in the house. Plus, Calaminthe said, its a nice idea to try out a different location.

And it seems, she is right, and you can make nice doll pictures quite everywhere!

Especially some of me, of course, I ALWAYS look great, in every location.

And there - now you have a nice inspiration how to to great doll pictures yourself.

Choose the stairs, the bath, wherever you find a little space and a nice and neutral background, pose your dolls, maybe add some accessories, and try out what lets your ghouls (or mansters) look nice!

Oh my Ra, I guess I promised you to review some more minis we got a while ago. Here they are:

First, there is "Fruity Monsters" of "Fruit Ghouls" Lagoona Blue.

She is, as all of the shown minis, from Series 2.

Fruity Monsters Lagoona is Common.

She has long blonde hair and shimmering aqua coloured skin.

Her cute freckled face has one eye shut, the second open, and a cute open little laughing mouth.

Lagoons is Pineapple themed, and so on her hair you find some details looking a bit like that fruits, and to fit the theme, she wears a yellow checkered shirt with greenh collar and a brown skirt.

Her shoes have the same colour as the shirt.

This is "Sporty Monsters" Deuce Gorgon.

The Sporty Monsters are as well part of Series two, and Deuce is common.

He has his snake mohawk hair and on the side of his head you can find a lyellow basket ball printed on.

Deuce is wearing red eyeshades and a black MH basket ball team uniform with a "13" at the front.

His shoes are black as well and have white laces.

And here are three more of the "Teddy Bear Ghouls", all series 2.

Here we have Catrine de Mew, and she is common.

Catrine has a blue bow on her cheek and a cute cat mouth. Her hair is mainly blue with a lavender strak, and her Teddy Bear costume is blue and lavender as well.

On her chest there is a blue bow as well.

Teddy Bear Ghouls Clawdeen is a common find as well.

Her hair is brown, green and pink, and her Teddy Bear costume is purple with lime green.

On her chest, she has a lime green crescent moon.

And we have Teddy Bear Ghouls Venus McFlytrap, and she is again common.

Her hair is green with yellow streak this time, and her Teddy Bear costume is green and hot pink, and on her chest there is a Flytrap plant.

Well, and now we are at the end of the blogspot.

REVIEW: Ghouls Beast Pet Lagoona Blue

Hi Monsters and Normies,

Lagoona Blue here today on Clawdeens Photoblog to do the weekly blogspot!

Because this is all about me and my latest little pet.

Do I still like my little piranha Neptuna?

Of course I do! Does this keep me away from liking and taking care of other little creatures?

Of course not!

This doll series is a little bit older, and it might be hard to find me, but its worth a try.

Today I am:

GHOULS BEAST PET LAGOONA BLUE

Here am I in my box.

Its the "classic" new box, black with the logo on the right.

Under that you can see a cute artwork of me and my new pet.

Also you can find my name there and whose daughter I am and a red pet paw logo that tells you the name of the doll series.

Here is the back of the box with the usual infearmation, artwork and picture of other doll in the series.

The artwork that you can find on front of the box repeats on the back, and there is also a little fact file.

A hint how my little new friend is called is not there.

I guess you can name it yourself.

Also avalable in the third wave of the Ghouls Beast Pet series was Cleo deNile together with a cute little cat. Her review you can find here.

Plus, there was a second wave of the ghouls beast pets.

It included Frankie Stein and Draculaura.

Frankie Stein is already reviewed too, but Draculaura is so far not part of Calaminthes MH doll collection.

Also on the back, you can find this tecnical drawing. It says that you can pull out my ellbows and hands and the fins on my legs to make it easier to dress me.

You don't find these kinds of illustrations on every Monster High doll box.

If there is not one, please don't pull on the hands or other joints - you may break your doll and of course you don't want to do that!

Here am I and everything I come with still pinned on the coral red and black striped, coffin shaped, pets themed background display.

Do I have to tell you that you won't find a brush, a doll stand or a diarie like on the early series? I guess no... and I guess I did!

So, when you free me from the display, this is what you will find:

A fully articulatedme, a pet and a pet accessorie.

Pet and acessorie first.

My little new pet is a cute baby turtle.

I tend to say that it is a "she"... and she is pink with a turquise shell and eyes of the same colour, one little tooth and a hot pink bow on her head.

Please don't ask me how to place a bow on the bold head of a turtle - but it is of course very cute!

The accessorie is a little water ball that has the same colour as the turtles shell and is meant as a play accessorie for her.

Here you can see my pet turtle from the front.

As I mentioned earlier, she doesn't have a name. I simply call her Shelly, I guess.

And now lets talk a little bit about myself.

As I told you alreaqdy, I am fully articulated which means you can move my hips, shoulder joints (not only forth and back but also to the sides) and my head (also full movement), but also you can move my ellbows and wrists and bend my knees.

The leg fins can be pulled out - make sure not to loose them if you do - but the fins on my arms are molded on.

My hair is mainly blonde and wavy, open and side parted. It has some light turquoise streaks.

Sorry that the face shot is darker, but if Calaminthe would have used the flash, it would have been too overexposed.

Well, I asm wearing a salmon coloured lipstick and eyeshadow of the same colour, just lighter.

My dress is sleeveless and looks very sporty with the cuff on the skirt, and this is what I like.

It mainly is turquise and has a pattern of waves, turtles, snails and sea anemones in white, salmon, turquise and a little bit black for the linings.

Also I have a little bracelet in coral colour.

And here are my shoes which are sandals.

They have a scales mold everywhere and and the back there are little fins, and I totally love them!

Well, its not a nice way to say goodbye with a picture of my feet, I guess, but its the last pic for today.

This means we are at the end of todays blogspot and it is time to say goodbye for now!
